Skyrme Mean-Field Study of Rotational Bands in Transfermium Isotopes
نویسنده
چکیده
Self-consistent mean field calculations with the SLy4 interaction and a densitydependent pairing force are presented for nuclei in the Nobelium mass region. Predicted quasi-particle spectra are compared with experiment for the heaviest known odd N and odd Z nuclei. Spectra and rotational bands are presented for nuclei around 252,4No for which experiments are either planned or already running.

Shape mixing and β-decay properties of neutron-deficient Kr and Sr isotopes
Gamow-Teller strength distributions and β-decay half-lives in neutron-deficient Kr and Sr isotopes are investigated within a deformed quasiparticle random phase approximation. The approach is based on a self-consistent Skyrme Hartree-Fock mean field with pairing correlations and residual separable particle-hole and particle-particle forces. A simple two-level model is used to mix the nuclear sh...
متن کاملRelativistic and Non-Relativistic Mean Field Investigation of the Superdeformed Bands in Neutron-Deficient Zn Isotopes
Following the experimental discovery of the superdeformed(SD) band in Zn, we calculate several low-lying SD bands in neutron-deficient 30Zn isotopes using Relativistic Mean Field model. For comparison, we also perform nonrelativistic Skyrme-Hartree-Fock calculation of the SD bands in Zn. Both models give somewhat smaller moments of inertia than the observed ones, but we can see some qualitative...
متن کاملRelativistic Mean Field Description of Nuclear Collective Rotation −the Superdeformed Rotational Bands in the A∼60 Mass Region−
Relativistic Mean Field Theory is applied to the description of rotating nuclei. Since the previous formulation of Munich group was based on a special relativistic transformation property of the spinor fields, we reformulate in a fully covariant manner using tetrad formalism. The numerical calculations are performed for 3 zinc isotopes, including the newly discovered superdeformed band in Zn wh...
متن کاملANOMALY IN THE CHARGE RADII OF Pb ISOTOPES
The anomalous behaviour of the charge radii of the isotopic chain of Pb nuclei has been studied in the relativistic mean field theory. It has been shown that the relativistic mean field provides an excellent description of the anomalous kink in the isotopic shifts about Pb. This contrasts strongly from the Skyrme mean field, where the densitydependent Skyrme forces fail to reproduce the observe...
متن کاملDeformation around neutron-rich Cr isotopes in axially symmetric Skyrme-Hatree-Fock-Bogoliubov method
We analyse deformation mechanism in neutron-rich Cr, Fe and Ti isotopes with N=3244 by means of a Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov mean-field code employing a twodimensional mesh representation in the cylindrical coordinate system. Evaluating systematically the quadrupole deformation energy, we show that the Skyrme parameter set SkM* gives a quadrupole instability around the neutron number N∼38-4...
